Giclee is considered to be a superior form of fine art printing and is better than any other forms of inkjet printing. In French the term giclee stands for “a spray of liquid”, which is the technique used in giclee. In giclee modern inkjet printers eject ink onto paper in a continuous motion and can also use around 8-9 colors as opposed to 3-4 colors that is used in lithography. Giclee fine art print is a common form for reproducing artists work to digitally archive them.

In modern art, giclee prints are seen as a boon since it is an affordable way of printing their work for sale. Earlier they had to pre-print and mass produce multiple copies without knowing if they would be sold. Now with the advent of giclee art reproductions happening, artists are able to print only when an order is placed and thus cut down on expenses. The archival value of some of these paintings is immense and yet the artists do not have to worry about preserving the quality of their paintings or about its safety.

The other advantages of giclee include the fact that it allows reproduction of the images on any type of media such as canvas, watercolor paper, and others. The images can also be reproduced to any size that is required and often, depending on the picture resolution, life size images can also be printed. While earlier an original artwork of the artist was sold for millions, now the artist has an option to digitally recreate his work and sell it many more art enthusiasts. Since the cost of production involved is low, the cost of these prints is low as well, thus enabling a wider audience to purchase them. The other benefit of digital prints is that they can be recreated in various ways like matted look, small photo prints, postcards or any other way as the artist might choose to print it.

If you are looking for giclee prints, but you don’t know where to buy. Visit PictureSalon.com to find out high quality giclee prints at wholesales prices. Their giclee prints are made using pigmented inks which are much more stable and fade resistant than dye inks. A giclee using pigmented inks should not fade for a minimum of eighty years! The giclees that they produce are sold by artists as well as fine art museums. Picture Salon provides an affordable and convenient way to produce fine art, digital inkjet prints of your work — no matter where you live. Their services levels and their attention to detail set them apart from the rest.

Art paintings were done even when cave paintings and murals were made. With time, the subject of art painting got a boost. Experimentations became the order of the day. Different materials or surfaces and different color combinations marked the painting turf of different centuries.

Oil paintings had caught the imagination of painters even in the pre-renaissance era. Making these paintings through a pigment tied to the dry oil medium was in itself a revelation then. These art paintings were largely practiced on canvas; though paper, wood, papyrus, vellum was also heard of. It used the boiled mixture of linseed and resin or frankincense to create the painting varnish. Such varnish or oil helped with the paintings.

Oil paintings gave a lot of importance to layering. The under layers were made with turpentine oil and on top of that many distinctive layers of oil paints were used to provide with the necessary contours. It used hog’s bristle for bold shots and Squirrel’s fur for mild brush strokes. We are talking about the brushes here.

Watercolor paintings also had its fair share of glory and is still running well. Art paintings that evolved through the use of watercolors found its feet largely in the post renaissance time. It used pigments which are dissoluble in water solvent vehicle. Watercolor paintings are largely done on paper. With the invention of far many compact combinations of colors, even the paper has become wove paper today. Today the water colors come in metal tubes or dried depressed cakes.

Europe denied the revolution its impetus when it started using aniline dyes in bright-colored medium. This got duly exposed in sunlight and left the surface. This had caused quite a stir and subsequent downfall of watercolor paintings.

Another genre of art paintings were the abstract paintings. These were the most contorted but the freest expressions of the subconscious. Any defined image using visual dynamics as an illusion for visual reality marked such paintings. These art paintings did not draw any inspiration from real world whatsoever. Abstract paintings got the necessary fillip through George Braque and Pablo Picasso when they came with the Baroque movement and Cubism respectively.

Few of the masters who have envisaged and equally implemented art paintings are:

Cubism- he came up with Cubism and defined the world from a vantage point as conceived by the painter and not as perceived by him.

Impressionism- Paul Cezanne’s movement was ably taken by Renoir. It dealt with pointed images; pointed staircases leading towards pointed houses. Such pointed; peaked houses have been psychologically inferred as being the result of years of Nazi oppression.

Dali’s Surrealism and other art paintings that evolved out of Impressionism and romanticism were equally brilliant and still hold value.

Young children are often overlooked by the traditional drawing curriculums that tends to focus on children over twelve or thirteen years old, who are blessed with natural talent and who can usually draw already. School teachers do craft projects and provide younger children with free time to do symbolic stick-figure-style drawings. Yet, unless children are given instruction and guidance, before they stop symbolic drawing they will assume they weren’t born with the ability to draw realistically. The closer they get to preteen years, the more they will resist the activity and not want to try at all.

However, if children are given structured lessons in realist drawing from the time they are very young, they will quickly graduate to sophisticated and skilled drawings right after giving up their symbolic drawing styles.

Everybody can enjoy drawing, but sometimes it’s hard to know where to begin. Many people make the mistake of drawing what they think something looks like, instead of really looking at it carefully first. Hervey Bay artist, JoAnn Clarke, said that a set of simple general principles are required. Just as a composer and musician can break things down into their basic components, so too by breaking down a subject into a series of simple elements a child can analyze what they ’see’ and then put it into drawing.

By utilizing the basic components of shape a student is able to create any possible image with the fewest number of lines. This has been termed the “alphabet of shape” that consists of five basic elements; circle, dot, straight line, curved line and angle. Any object that a student wants to draw can simply be analysed in terms of how these elements of shape are combined. Thus children can be trained to see each general shape and then be free to interpret the detail in any way they wish. Thus, every child is able to achieve realistic representation of the subject drawn and still be creatively unique.

Besides the obvious benefit of learning to draw, students also develop fine motor skills, problem-solving abilities and improved concentration. Case studies have also shown how children, who have undertaken tuition in drawing, within a positive, non-judgmental, non-competitive environment, have made marked improvements in areas such as disorientation or misrepresentation of images, hyperactivity, communication ability and reading readiness, introverted behaviour, resistance to participation and inability to observe or remember instruction sequences.

Art Galleries are places where art is exhibited and in some cases sold. An introduction to art galleries should explain the difference between a commercial gallery and an art museum.

The type of art included in a gallery can vary. Art can encompass a wide variety of medium, such as, drawings, paintings, photography, and sculpture, to name a few. The purpose of the art gallery is to show off the work of local and national artists in a way that people will want to purchase them. Many of the artist’s works can also be bought as prints. This allows the artist to sell more, while making the price more affordable to people.

Local Art Galleries

Art Galleries are generally known for art that highlights the natural beauty all around the world. Everyday there are people creating entirely new works of art, and placing them in art galleries all over the world.

Most major cities have wonderful art galleries. If you have never visited an art gallery, you should make a point to do so. You may think that an art gallery is not where you would want to spend the afternoon, but you may be surprised at how interesting an art gallery can be. Check your local phone book for an art gallery near you.

Virtual Art Galleries

If you have Internet access, then you can find an online art gallery, my choice as well. If you can view and possibly order from the comfort of your own home why not. Virtual tours of art galleries are a lot of fun.

Pencil drawing in its simplest form has a variety of techniques which can be readily acquired through regular practice. Practice sessions need not even be overly long, but they should be consistent as this will accelerate the artists skills more readily.

To become a really good artist takes time and patience and having the motivation to practice. It also means you should read the following steps which will have you on the right road to successful drawing:

1. Drawing takes time. Allow enough time to be able to enjoy the whole process. Build up the drawing a little at a time and feel the satisfaction growing as the drawing begins to take shape. Let yourself become absorbed in your work, this will make a big difference to the outcome.

2. Take on simple projects at first. Being too ambitious may make you feel worse if your pencil drawing does not come out quite the way you were hoping. All artistic endeavors require a great deal of focus and technique, so prepare to invest in your learning process.

3. When copying, focus on the actual subject and do not keep looking at your own drawing as this can make you less focused if your own drawing does not look like the same.

4. Remember to shade and tone and for this you will need different types of pencils. It is worth investing in some good quality pencils so that your pencil drawing can become amazing with a little practice.

5. Finally, believe in yourself. The road to becoming a great artist is a fairly tricky one however; the greatest skill that is required in pencil drawing is that of dedication and determination.

For the active stock photographer, placing your images on a Web-based on-line photo gallery can be a showcase for your stock photography. In some cases, it can also be an opportunity to make new photobuyer contacts and sales. The photo albums, or “malls” as they are sometimes called, range from companies that provide film printing service, to high profile sites that attract professional photobuyers.

If you are just starting out you can sign up with a free site to test the process. These sites usually limit entries to three or four dozen images. You also have to put up with boundless advertising accompanying your page. You need to be aware that professional photobuyers rarely frequent these kinds of sites.

Some on-line photo sites don’t permit extensive keywording. This would limit the ability of a photo researcher searching this site to target in on a specific image that needs to be described in several specific words. Be sure to choose a site that allows extensive captioning (photo descriptions) for each picture. You’ll find Portfolios.com does this, but it’s expensive: $599 per year. It does not carry any advertising.

We have listed a few dozen current gallery sites that we have discovered over the past year. We’ve listed them all, but be prepared that some of them may already be out of business by now. Which brings up a second caution note for when you choose a free site. Research the stability of the site carefully, the way you need to do when choosing an Internet Service Provider. If the site is not in business in a year from now, you’ll have an uphill task to transfer the increasing numbers of your images to another site.

And finally, the site may be free and well-designed, but if it’s getting few visitors, it would not be the site for you if you’re planning on selling your stock photography. You can check whether a site gets lots of visitors, by using the (free) software, www.alexa.com, to see the ranking that Alexa gives the site.

Collecting paintings is one of the most hobby of collectors, nowadays. Particularly, collecting abstract paintings is loved and Mario Zampedroni is artist who is well-known on the world about this field. Attended Castello Sforzesco’s High School of Art in Milan, were he followed drawing and painting courses and distinguished himself being awarded many prizes. Until the end of 1970s he took part in painting competitions and won six times. He graduated in Graphics and advertising and studied architecture at Polytechnic in Milan. But first of all, let’s talk about abstract paintings.

Abstract paintings are unique and the most creative style of the paintings. Abstract Oil paintings have been the privilege of the people with high artistic sense. Abstract art paintings can be defined as an art that uses color and form in a non-representational way and it does not depict objects in the natural world. Abstract paintings were often claimed to capture something of the depicted objects’ immutable intrinsic qualities rather than its external appearance.

Abstract painters have the highest artistic sense. There have been many famous abstract painters. Their abstract art work has been greatly appreciated. Most of these abstract painters have produced their Abstract oil paintings on canvas. Picass is one of the most famous abstract painter. His abstract paintings are amongst the most popular abstract art paintings.Picass abstract paintings have earned him worldwide recognition.

Abstract art has deep roots in history. Non-objective art is not an invention of the twentieth century. As the depiction of human beings is not allowed in the Islamic religion, consequently the Islamic culture developed a high standard of decorative arts. Calligraphy is also a form of non-figurative art. Abstract designs have also existed in western culture in many contexts. However, Abstract art is distinct from pattern-making in design, since it draws on the distinction between decorative art and fine art, in which a painting is an object of thoughtful contemplation in its own right. There are also many large abstract paintings.

Contemporary abstract paintings also represent true form of the abstract art. Modern abstract paintings have successfully attracted the art lovers. Modern abstract oil Paintings are of various wonderful styles. These include abstract expressionist paintings, abstract landscape paintings, abstract still life painting and abstract flower paintings etc. The abstract acrylic art is also getting very popular. The abstract art artists are also reproducing colourful abstract art. Mario Zampedroni is among the contemporary abstract painters who works can be seen today.

The abstract art lovers decorate their homes and offices with these wonderful abstract oil paintings. Cheap abstract art is also available from the abstract art galleries. People can buy the cheap abstract paintings from the abstract art galleries. They can also buy the reproductions of the famous abstract paintings from these abstract art galleries.

And now, a good news for the abstract paintings lovers. Get abstract paintings of your choice just by selecting the Model number of the Abstract Oil Painting on website or by choosing the Photo of your required image on website. Mario Zampedroni will make you pleasure with paintings.

With some basic drawing tips everybody can improve their skill level and be a better drawing maker. Here are some drawing tips that will help you to improve your skill level.

1. If you are just starting out you should practice drawing simple shapes like circles, eggs and ovals with reasonable accuracy. These basic shapes can be used to draw more complex shapes.

2. As these basic shapes will be the construction lines on which the main drawing will be structured you should practice drawing these lines as light as possible.

3. If you face difficulty in drawing the basic shapes take help of circle templates, compass or rulers.

4. For improving your skill level in figure drawing be selective. Concentrate more on a specific area and practice a lot. For example you may want to practice drawing tricky areas like hands, draperies more than simpler areas like nose, lips etc.

5. Using a good-quality material will make your drawing look good and save you from lots of frustration. Your eraser should erase cleanly without smudging the drawing. And your pencil should be good enough to draw lines without requiring frequent sharpening. You may also try clutch pencils because they require less maintenance than timber cased pencils.

As a home decorator or someone who simply wants to breath some fresh air into your living environment, it’s important that you get out of the habit of reaching for the white paint when it’s time to freshen up your walls. Not that there’s anything wrong with white paint – it’s just so standard that it has quite truthfully become a bit boring and sterile. To give your environment a splash of personality, why not try some real color?

We all know that color influences our moods. Unless your walls are white (or even off-white), your environment can actually dictate the kind of behavior that you want to experience. Now

we’re not suggesting that you engage in any psychological warfare or anything, but we are suggesting that you take some time in selecting the colors that you want your walls painted with because they can create a feeling – whether you want them to or not!

Generally, deep blues, greens and browns reinforce the feelings that we experience when we’re outdoors. These are the colors of nature, however black, white, gold, purples and/or rich reds give us a feeling of elegance or even royalty. Yellow, red, and orange colors can visually warm a room, while blue and dark purple can cool it down. Calming colors are green and blue while colors that excite us are red, orange, and yellow.

Decorative painting makes use of these feelings and combines them in such a way that they may even create multiple moods in one setting. Generally, decorative painting attempts to set an overall mood while the objects and/or appliances in a room complete the mood. For example, a room that’s painted blue may include light purple carpeting and dark green blinds. The blue walls tie the purple and green together because both purple and green contain a little blue inside of them: red + blue = purple; yellow + blue = green.

Complimentary colors are hues that blend in well with a main color because they contain a little of the main color. And our carpet and blinds example demonstrates the use of complimentary colors. Accent colors on the other hand are small bits of color that make a main color stand out. Back in our example room, a collection of small red pottery or a yellow lamp might appropriate serve as accent colors.

Decorative painting – whether it’s applied to half a wall, one wall, two walls, or all the walls of a room can certainly exploit this science of color theory and help to make a statement. The statement needn’t be bold – your environment can certainly quietly speak through muted colors and subtle variations. The important thing is that you’re aware of its power and use its power to your advantage.

A paintbrush is certainly the most commonly used tool in oil painting. Most people who are knowledgeable about oil painting will agree that palette knives have for long been the traditional oil paint mixing tool. It is indeed a fact that palette knives are ideally suited for creating smooth, consistent mixtures of paint with the medium. At the same time, there is no denying that there is a host of oil painters who go beyond the palette with their knives, straight to the painting surface.

These knives are available in a variety of shapes and sizes and even made in plastic. As all of us are aware, for mixing purposes, just one traditional shape or size might do. But applying paint calls for a range of palette knives to choose from like choosing a set of brushes. When you are attempting to paint with palette knives, experiment with different shapes and sizes to see what produces the best effects. It is generally believed that smaller and thinner knives are ideal for lining, and the bigger ones are more suited for loading on the paint.

There are people who are fond of using stencils into their painting work = particularly when the subject demands a repetitive effect. There are ready-made stencils available in the market or you can make your own with the aid of a stencil kit. But you must take care to use the proper materials or else, the desired results cannot be achieved.

All professional painters will agree that stenciling is not a traditional oil painting method. This is one reason why there are hardly any tutorials. Professional will insist you should still keep in mind the fundamentals of the medium – what is generally known as ‘fat over lean’. It is obvious that very thin paint will bleed around the edges, so it might be necessary to wait until one of the thicker layers of your painting. But it is a fact that stenciling in one of the under layers gives a great effect. However, it is advisable to experiment to find a solution that will fit your needs.

You will soon find rags, sponges and even your own fingers as excellent alternate tools when it comes to oil painting. Professional oil painters claim that it is possible one could create an entire oil painting using rags and/or sponges and without the aid of paint brushes. Sometimes the background color of the painting can be effectively done using just one’s own fingers. Of course, the basic ‘fat over lean rule’ always applies, so bear that in mind when experimenting in any innovative methods.

However, one should exercise caution when painting with your fingers or any other part of your body. You must make sure that the oil color and solvents do not absorb into your skin and then into your bloodstream. This could lead to health problems.
