Airbrush tanning is a relatively new and exciting way of tanning that saves your skin from harmful UV rays but still gives you the glow you are looking for. When you tan under the sun or the direct contact of UV lights in a tanning bed you are setting up your skin for disaster. The overexposure to UV rays leaves your skin dry and damaged which causes premature aging and sun spots. You also leave the door wide open for more serious skin conditions, including skin cancer which can be deadly. Conventional tanning methods also often leave your coloring uneven and with tan lines.

There are many benefits for using airbrush makeup, but for airbrush wedding makeup one of the biggest has to be its staying power. Bridal makeup needs to be perfect, and cannot kiss embrace or hug off during the hundreds of congratulatory hugs and kisses a bride will receive during the course of the event.

Airbrushing foundation has proven to be one of the best ways of achieving a perfect look that won’t budge till you want it too. The key difference is in the formulation and application. Airbrush foundation is formulated with micro-ground pigments so that it can flow through the airbrush pens, what this also means is that facilities are far more adherent to the skin while only needing a fraction of the product to get the perfect coverage. This makes for foundation that looks really natural and blends seamlessly and of course, stays where you put it.

The micro particles in airbrush foundation also wear a lot better than thicker formulas and never get that oily, heavy feeling like so many other foundations-this is because the formula lets skin breathe and doesn’t absorbed into pores, another of the added benefits of airbrush wedding makeup.

As far as the actual bridal look is concerned, airbrush wedding makeup can also provide the best blend and natural contouring around cheeks, jaw-line, temples and nose. These areas need to be defined because the bride will be photographed a lot, but with traditional products it can often look a bit patchy. With airbrush wedding makeup the foundation shade can be accurately adjusted simply by adding a few drops of a darker shade of foundation to the foundation cup, so blending contours becomes really easy.

Even if you don’t have an airbrush compressor, some makeup artists still prefer to use the airbrush foundations for wedding makeup because the formulas are so long-lasting and provide an ideal base for eyes, lips and cheeks. Airbrush wedding makeup also has the benefit of looking completely natural, so your husband-to-be will be able to recognize you at the altar!

Of course there are lots of different products available on the market, and each has their pros and cons. Of course it’s best to do your research early before your wedding day, so that you can be sure you are getting the best airbrush wedding makeup available. Lots of salons are using airbrush technologies these days, so take a look into the different brands, and then find a salon or makeup artist in your area using your preferred brand for airbrush wedding makeup.

For more tips and some great ideas for airbrush wedding makeup and different airbrush brands take a look at the links below, which are full of the latest information on airbrush technology.

Airbrush tanning takes away all the harmful risks and side effects from overexposure leaving your skin healthy and soft as it was before you started tanning. You also have the convenience of going to a salon or airbrushing in the comfort of your own home with the availability of airbrush tanning services and kits. Whether you go to a salon for airbrushing or decide to purchase a kit and learn the art yourself you have the opportunity to customize the tone you want for a more natural look and use airbrushing techniques to make your body even more gorgeous. You can define areas and conceal others to give you a tighter look and more defined body when you step out in your favorite bikini.

Airbrush tanning is a great way to get the look you want without putting your skin to the test and creating an unhealthy looking tan. You can keep your skin soft, healthy and beautiful while still getting the results you want. The at-home airbrushing kits are easy to use and a cost-effective way to tan in the comfort of your own home. You can maintain a yearlong tan or just get a quick tan for a special event. Once you learn how to airbrush like the pro’s you can invite friends over to join you in a healthier approach to tanning.

Choosing exactly which oil paintings are right for however can be fairly difficult and the wrong choice can stand out like a sore thumb. The idea here again is to go things that won’t date, as well as things that say something about you personally. And of course they have to match with your colour scheme.

Fortunately there are a couple of options you can be sure won’t date. Ironically one of the best ways is to pick artwork that’s already dated. The reason this works is that people will (hopefully) know that it was dated when you bought it, meaning that you consciously decided on it rather than just failing to keep up with the times. Picking something retro or geek-chic can even be ironic in this sense, and getting an oil painting of a Star Wars character or Nightrider can be great for someone young and a bit alternative. In the same way paintings of anything or anyone iconic, such as Mohamed Ali, Elvis or Marilyn Munroe can give your room a hint of character and a spot of retro chic.

Of course this won’t be to everyone’s taste, but if you go further back you’ll start getting into more classic territory. While it’s unlikely that you’ll be unable to afford an original piece of old artwork, getting reproductions of your favourite well-known oil paintings can make a mature and cultured centre piece for your dining room.

If you want something that will draw less attention to itself however then a landscape can make a much more subtle addition to your walls and can also make the room feel more spacious. Though these are more ‘standard’ you can still choose something that reflects your personality as well as the ‘temperature’ of the room. If you have lots of mahogany for example you might choose an autumn scene, whereas a brighter more modern room might benefit from a beach with a palm tree.

Another option that demands less attention but won’t be to everyone’s tastes is to choose something abstract. This can be modern art or just attractive shapes and again the secret is to go for a design that appeals to you personally and fits the tone of the room. Some abstract art can be a little surreal and edgy however which may not be appropriate for more relaxing rooms unless you want to psyche out your guests.

So there are countless options when picking oil paintings and each can offer something different to the decor; it’s just picking the right one for you and your room.

The art of abstract painting began a very long time ago. Artists began this art several hundred years ago. In fact, you have probably seen some of the more famous abstract paintings before. You may recall a famous abstract painting created by Van Gogh. Picasso also had an abstract painting or two as well. Modigliani is also known for his abstract painting work. Because of these artists, and many others, the art of abstract painting has gained popularity in the modern world.

Now what exactly is an abstract painting? An abstract painting is defined in many ways. First off, an abstract painting does not depict reality like traditional paintings. In the beginning, most art was depicting a photographic or realistic expression of someone or something. But an abstract painting does not do this. The definition of an abstract painting is that an abstract painting does not depict objects in the natural world. Rather, an abstract painting uses colors and shapes in a non-representing and nonobjective manner. It can be of anyone, anything, or just nothing at all.

You can easily see this when you look at an abstract painting. An abstract painting has bold, bright, and vivid colors. An abstract painting also has many biometric shapes that are used with the bold colors to make the artwork stand out. It is both strange and beautiful to look at an abstract painting.

In the 1940′s a movement called “Abstract Expressionism” was started. This movement was started to show the freedom of an artist’s expression and to push the art of abstract painting. It was started in New York in a school that also called it “Action Painting.” This school was one of the first American schools that declared its independence from the European style of artwork. They liked to think of their art as a form of spiritual and intellectual art. This then further pushed the art of abstract painting.

Now that you know the history of the art of abstract painting you may come to understand it better. It is important to appreciate all forms of art, including the odd art of an abstract painting. You may find yourself wanting to get a piece of this artwork for yourself. It is truly an interesting thing to look at.

Decorative painting is of interest to every DIY decorator for the many exciting possibilities it opens for decorators looking for an inexpensive way to perk up their homes. In a sense, decorative painting artists are pushing the envelope on home decorating. Faux finishes from onyx to alabaster, from serpentine to breccia are now available to the DIY decorator, very handy in raising the glam factor of any home decor, or in tying together the decor style dictated by one’s acquisition of magnificent wall grilles and other metal art. Wrought iron wall grilles, stuccoed walls, terra-cotta and plaster pots with relief designs in faux verdigris, Corinthian-capital base of a glass-top table in faux granite– what more can a Mediterranean style fan want?

If the DIY possibilities excite you well enough to want to try your hand at decorative painting, here’s what you need to know about the different types of paints. Green concerns make water-based paints popular. Of interest to you are latex paint, aerosol acrylic paints, craft acrylic paint, ceramic paints, and fabric paints.

Latex paint
Latex paints use acrylic resins, vinyl resins, or both. You’d want to choose latex paints of acrylic resins because they provide an even and complete finish and wear longer, but you might settle for acrylic-vinyl mixes, or all-vinyl depending on your budget. Latex dries fast, wears well, and can be custom-mixed to your precise color. It’s available flat for a matte appearance or high-gloss for a more durable finish.

Craft acrylic paint
This is 100 percent acrylic-resin paint which should not be confused with the ones used for canvas painting. Sold in 2-oz, 4-oz, and 8-oz bottles, they come in various colors and in fluorescent, iridescent, and metallic versions. If a thinner consistency is needed, they can be diluted with water, latex paint conditioner, or acrylic extender.

Fabric paints
Although acrylic paints can be used to paint on fabrics, there’s a paint that’s manufactured exclusively for fabrics: fabric paint. To avoid unnecessary stiffness, remember to apply lightly. You know you’re doing it right when you can see the fabric’s texture. The painted fabric can be machine-washed or dry-cleaned once heat-set.

Ceramic paints
These are paints specially formulated for ceramic surfaces, although you can use acrylic or latex paints on a previously-primed surface. Subjecting the finished product to hardening in low temperature improves the paint’s adhesion, durability, and water resistance.

Aerosol acrylic paints
This type dries quickly and covers well. Extremely handy, they can be applied quickly, and are best-suited for painting irregular surfaces. To be on the safe side of green concerns, use only the type that’s free of fluorocarbons and methylene chloride.

In modern art, giclee prints are seen as a boon since it is an affordable way of printing their work for sale. Earlier they had to pre-print and mass produce multiple copies without knowing if they would be sold. Now with the advent of giclee art reproductions happening, artists are able to print only when an order is placed and thus cut down on expenses. The archival value of some of these paintings is immense and yet the artists do not have to worry about preserving the quality of their paintings or about its safety.

The other advantages of giclee include the fact that it allows reproduction of the images on any type of media such as canvas, watercolor paper, and others. The images can also be reproduced to any size that is required and often, depending on the picture resolution, life size images can also be printed. While earlier an original artwork of the artist was sold for millions, now the artist has an option to digitally recreate his work and sell it many more art enthusiasts. Since the cost of production involved is low, the cost of these prints is low as well, thus enabling a wider audience to purchase them. The other benefit of digital prints is that they can be recreated in various ways like matted look, small photo prints, postcards or any other way as the artist might choose to print it.

If you are looking for giclee prints, but you don’t know where to buy. Visit PictureSalon.com to find out high quality giclee prints at wholesales prices. Their giclee prints are made using pigmented inks which are much more stable and fade resistant than dye inks. A giclee using pigmented inks should not fade for a minimum of eighty years! The giclees that they produce are sold by artists as well as fine art museums. Picture Salon provides an affordable and convenient way to produce fine art, digital inkjet prints of your work — no matter where you live. Their services levels and their attention to detail set them apart from the rest.

Art paintings were done even when cave paintings and murals were made. With time, the subject of art painting got a boost. Experimentations became the order of the day. Different materials or surfaces and different color combinations marked the painting turf of different centuries.

Oil paintings had caught the imagination of painters even in the pre-renaissance era. Making these paintings through a pigment tied to the dry oil medium was in itself a revelation then. These art paintings were largely practiced on canvas; though paper, wood, papyrus, vellum was also heard of. It used the boiled mixture of linseed and resin or frankincense to create the painting varnish. Such varnish or oil helped with the paintings.

Oil paintings gave a lot of importance to layering. The under layers were made with turpentine oil and on top of that many distinctive layers of oil paints were used to provide with the necessary contours. It used hog’s bristle for bold shots and Squirrel’s fur for mild brush strokes. We are talking about the brushes here.

Watercolor paintings also had its fair share of glory and is still running well. Art paintings that evolved through the use of watercolors found its feet largely in the post renaissance time. It used pigments which are dissoluble in water solvent vehicle. Watercolor paintings are largely done on paper. With the invention of far many compact combinations of colors, even the paper has become wove paper today. Today the water colors come in metal tubes or dried depressed cakes.

Europe denied the revolution its impetus when it started using aniline dyes in bright-colored medium. This got duly exposed in sunlight and left the surface. This had caused quite a stir and subsequent downfall of watercolor paintings.

Another genre of art paintings were the abstract paintings. These were the most contorted but the freest expressions of the subconscious. Any defined image using visual dynamics as an illusion for visual reality marked such paintings. These art paintings did not draw any inspiration from real world whatsoever. Abstract paintings got the necessary fillip through George Braque and Pablo Picasso when they came with the Baroque movement and Cubism respectively.

Few of the masters who have envisaged and equally implemented art paintings are:

Cubism- he came up with Cubism and defined the world from a vantage point as conceived by the painter and not as perceived by him.

Impressionism- Paul Cezanne’s movement was ably taken by Renoir. It dealt with pointed images; pointed staircases leading towards pointed houses. Such pointed; peaked houses have been psychologically inferred as being the result of years of Nazi oppression.

Dali’s Surrealism and other art paintings that evolved out of Impressionism and romanticism were equally brilliant and still hold value.

Young children are often overlooked by the traditional drawing curriculums that tends to focus on children over twelve or thirteen years old, who are blessed with natural talent and who can usually draw already. School teachers do craft projects and provide younger children with free time to do symbolic stick-figure-style drawings. Yet, unless children are given instruction and guidance, before they stop symbolic drawing they will assume they weren’t born with the ability to draw realistically. The closer they get to preteen years, the more they will resist the activity and not want to try at all.

However, if children are given structured lessons in realist drawing from the time they are very young, they will quickly graduate to sophisticated and skilled drawings right after giving up their symbolic drawing styles.

Everybody can enjoy drawing, but sometimes it’s hard to know where to begin. Many people make the mistake of drawing what they think something looks like, instead of really looking at it carefully first. Hervey Bay artist, JoAnn Clarke, said that a set of simple general principles are required. Just as a composer and musician can break things down into their basic components, so too by breaking down a subject into a series of simple elements a child can analyze what they ‘see’ and then put it into drawing.

By utilizing the basic components of shape a student is able to create any possible image with the fewest number of lines. This has been termed the “alphabet of shape” that consists of five basic elements; circle, dot, straight line, curved line and angle. Any object that a student wants to draw can simply be analysed in terms of how these elements of shape are combined. Thus children can be trained to see each general shape and then be free to interpret the detail in any way they wish. Thus, every child is able to achieve realistic representation of the subject drawn and still be creatively unique.

Besides the obvious benefit of learning to draw, students also develop fine motor skills, problem-solving abilities and improved concentration. Case studies have also shown how children, who have undertaken tuition in drawing, within a positive, non-judgmental, non-competitive environment, have made marked improvements in areas such as disorientation or misrepresentation of images, hyperactivity, communication ability and reading readiness, introverted behaviour, resistance to participation and inability to observe or remember instruction sequences.

Art Galleries are places where art is exhibited and in some cases sold. An introduction to art galleries should explain the difference between a commercial gallery and an art museum.

The type of art included in a gallery can vary. Art can encompass a wide variety of medium, such as, drawings, paintings, photography, and sculpture, to name a few. The purpose of the art gallery is to show off the work of local and national artists in a way that people will want to purchase them. Many of the artist’s works can also be bought as prints. This allows the artist to sell more, while making the price more affordable to people.

Local Art Galleries

Art Galleries are generally known for art that highlights the natural beauty all around the world. Everyday there are people creating entirely new works of art, and placing them in art galleries all over the world.

The type of art included in a gallery can vary. Art can encompass a wide variety of medium, such as, drawings, paintings, photography, and sculpture, to name a few.
Most major cities have wonderful art galleries. If you have never visited an art gallery, you should make a point to do so. You may think that an art gallery is not where you would want to spend the afternoon, but you may be surprised at how interesting an art gallery can be. Check your local phone book for an art gallery near you.

Virtual Art Galleries

If you have Internet access, then you can find an online art gallery, my choice as well. If you can view and possibly order from the comfort of your own home why not. Virtual tours of art galleries are a lot of fun.

Pencil drawing in its simplest form has a variety of techniques which can be readily acquired through regular practice. Practice sessions need not even be overly long, but they should be consistent as this will accelerate the artists skills more readily.

To become a really good artist takes time and patience and having the motivation to practice. It also means you should read the following steps which will have you on the right road to successful drawing:

1. Drawing takes time. Allow enough time to be able to enjoy the whole process. Build up the drawing a little at a time and feel the satisfaction growing as the drawing begins to take shape. Let yourself become absorbed in your work, this will make a big difference to the outcome.

2. Take on simple projects at first. Being too ambitious may make you feel worse if your pencil drawing does not come out quite the way you were hoping. All artistic endeavors require a great deal of focus and technique, so prepare to invest in your learning process.

3. When copying, focus on the actual subject and do not keep looking at your own drawing as this can make you less focused if your own drawing does not look like the same.

4. Remember to shade and tone and for this you will need different types of pencils. It is worth investing in some good quality pencils so that your pencil drawing can become amazing with a little practice.

5. Finally, believe in yourself. The road to becoming a great artist is a fairly tricky one however; the greatest skill that is required in pencil drawing is that of dedication and determination.
