Oil painting is the process of painting with pigments that are bound with a medium of drying oil. Oils used include linseed oil, poppyseed oil, walnut oil, and safflower oil. Painters often use different oils in the same painting depending on specific pigments and effects desired. The paints themselves also develop a particular consistency depending on the medium.

Always lay your oil paints out on your palette in the same order so that, with time, you’ll be able to pick up a bit of a colour instinctively. The proportion of oil (medium) should be increased for each subsequent layer in an oil painting because the lower layers absorb oil from the layers on top of them. If the upper layers dry faster than the lower ones, they can crack. Avoid using Ivory Black for an under-painting or sketching as it dries much slower than other oil paints.

Matisse is a professional artist acrylic colour of international standard. It is water-resistant, permanent and totally flexible in light and heavy impasto applications. Matisse has a versatile range of permanent artist colours of maximum light exposure standard.

Matisse incorporates a selected range of permanent artist quality painting mediums which allow for all basic techniques encountered in acrylic painting. Formulations of Matisse, based on current chemical know-how combined with cutting edge technology, have produced a quality impasto, more flexible paint, superior to the brand you are probably using now.

The most rudimentary form of painting with the brushes could be related to watercolor painting, as it is the primary step in the painting field, to get accustomed with the colors and the strokes of the brushes. This form of work is mostly found effective, to a great extent, considering the fact that it allows you to learn the strokes with a paint brush, before proceeding onto more daunting techniques. At the same time you also get the rough idea of mixing the paints, to get the desired effect. On discussing about this art we come across several aspects, which can be debated upon or could be put aside as the shortcomings or benefits of the art.

Watercolor paintings are an easy art, as far as the painting techniques with the paint brushes are concerned. The necessary ingredients required for watercolor painting could be easily available in the market, along with the water that is in free flow in every home. The watercolors are generally watering soluble pigments, which can be easily affordable by the individuals, and the water to dissolve the pigment is available at the workplace and even at home. All this makes the technique of watercolor painting so popular among the younger learners, who seek to get a good grasp on the painting techniques. Even the application of colors and the movement of strokes could be very well mastered, through the watercolor painting. It is much easier process than the others and allows us to feel free to experiment with the colors, as they are within affordable limits.

Although, people say that the watercolor painting technique is a very easy process and saves a lot of money, they forget to consider the after effects of the watercolor painting. There are several disadvantages of maintaining a watercolor painting due to several reasons, like problem with pigmentation, colors being water soluble and few others. You might have noted that watercolor paintings are mostly done on paper, varying between several qualities, which tend to turn yellow after quite a few years. Moreover, they being soluble with water are prone to water damage in the long run, where the entire painting might be ruined. Preservation for a watercolor painting can be really difficult considering these aspects, as you never know when some accidents might lead to contamination of water over the painting, dissolving the paint and ruining it.

Collecting paintings is one of the most hobby of collectors, nowadays. Particularly, collecting abstract paintings is loved and Mario Zampedroni is artist who is well-known on the world about this field.
Abstract paintings are unique and the most creative style of the paintings. Abstract Oil paintings have been the privilege of the people with high artistic sense. Abstract art paintings can be defined as an art that uses color and form in a non-representational way and it does not depict objects in the natural world. Abstract paintings were often claimed to capture something of the depicted objects’ immutable intrinsic qualities rather than its external appearance.

Abstract painters have the highest artistic sense. There have been many famous abstract painters. Their abstract art work has been greatly appreciated. Most of these abstract painters have produced their Abstract oil paintings on canvas. Picass is one of the most famous abstract painter.
Abstract art has deep roots in history. Non-objective art is not an invention of the twentieth century. As the depiction of human beings is not allowed in the Islamic religion, consequently the Islamic culture developed a high standard of decorative arts. Calligraphy is also a form of non-figurative art. Abstract designs have also existed in western culture in many contexts. However, Abstract art is distinct from pattern-making in design, since it draws on the distinction between decorative art and fine art, in which a painting is an object of thoughtful contemplation in its own right. There are also many large abstract paintings.

Contemporary abstract paintings also represent true form of the abstract art. Modern abstract paintings have successfully attracted the art lovers. Modern abstract oil Paintings are of various wonderful styles. These include abstract expressionist paintings, abstract landscape paintings, abstract still life painting and abstract flower paintings etc. The abstract acrylic art is also getting very popular. The abstract art artists are also reproducing colourful abstract art. Mario Zampedroni is among the contemporary abstract painters who works can be seen today.

The abstract art lovers decorate their homes and offices with these wonderful abstract oil paintings. Cheap abstract art is also available from the abstract art galleries.

An art directory is similar to an ordinary web directory such that it is an extensive catalogue of web addresses which are indexed by subject and relevance. It can store information about an artist, a musician, an actor, or an art shop. Art directories help people to easily locate an artwork of a specific artist or of a specific genre. Art directories play an important role in promoting the arts and artwork by providing a visual door to the outside world with the help of internet.

Selected directories, on the other hand, comprise of websites and pages which have been vetted. Selected directories provide links to other websites and documents relating to a specific theme or subject. These directories help you to find out documents or materials provided by experts in each field. Some of the popular selected directories include About.com and Virtual Library. Art directories can be any of these types. If your website is included in a popular web directory, then people or art buffs can type queries into the directory and the directory will look for relevant matches. A web surfer can also look in the indexed categories of the art directory. Some main categories can also include sub categories which pertain to various aspects of the primary category.
